Between 2020-2023 we will be working with the Manurewa Local Board to develop irrigation and drainage on one sports field at our Riverton Reserve Park beside our Community Centre. While this field is well used, over winter it is closed due to the amount of water causing the ground to be muddy. Over Summer the fields becomes very hard and the grass dies. Drainage and irrigation will enable longer usage all year around. We will be facilitating a number of Community Engagement Events, with key stakeholders and users of the park, to explore what’s needed for improvement. One request from the Basketball crew are “new basketball hoops, the old ones are falling apart.’
